In the spirit of honoring sacred cycles and celebrating the peak of light, you are invited to join us for the first annual CHOICE Tribe Summer Solstice gathering at Hanai! Following in the footprints of our ancient ancestors, we will come together to celebrate Grandfather Sun and his sacred gift of life through a tapestry of spoken story, song, and ceremony. Guided by Jordanna Anawalt, an enrolled member of the Hoopa Valley Tribe and founder of CHOICE Tribe, we will acknowledge the sacred land and the first people of Central Oregon, make offerings, set intentions, and learn what it means to be indigenous.
"When we acknowledge our interwoven connection to nature’s rhythms on these sacred days, a deepened love and reverence for ourselves and our commUnity comes forth. Gathered in circle with kindred hearts, and Tribe, we’ll soak in the radiance of a Summer Solstice evening with an indigenous inspirited experience."
After the ceremony, you can look forward to nourishing snacks, a family-friendly scavenger hunt, open music jam circle, World Peace Reiki grid with Shanti Heart, and community connection! We will close the space by gathering once more to watch the sunset in sacred silence and reflection before parting ways.
This event is lovingly brought to you by the Hanai Foundation, in collaboration with CHOICE Tribe. As a non-profit, the Hanai Foundation seeks to create opportunities for all members of our community to nurture themselves and connect with others through events and workshops that inspire creativity, compassion, and growth.
